Course description:

Following APT Firearms Academy's Unmanned Aerial Systems Level I course, APT's UAS Level II course equips students with the skillset to fly UAS in difficult environments.  These environments typically include inside of buildings, wooded areas, and confined spaces.  Students will develop the necessary skills to successfully maneuver around obstacles, strengthening their critical piloting abilities.  Students will also learn the importance of certain protection features and devices to make piloting in difficult environments possible.

 

Course Topics:

  • Safety

  • Difficult flying environments

  • Drone maneuverability

  • Height, length and width clearance

  • Speed

  • Drone payloads

  • Drone deployment

  • First Person View (FPV) drones

Packing List:

  • Unmanned Aerial System with remote controller.  Ensure that firmware is up to date and equipment is in good operational condition.  If a cell phone or tablet is required for flight of your drone, it is allowed.  

  • 3 spare batteries

  • Propeller guards for your UAS

  • Bring your lunch

  • Sun and insect protection

  • Weather appropriate clothing
