Submachine Gun Instructor Course

LENGTH OF COURSE:  5 days

TUITION:  $625 without P.O.S.T. credits (L.E.)

                    $650 with P.O.S.T. credits (L.E.)

 

Course description:

The Submachine Gun Instructor Course is designed to teach instructor candidates the methods of instructing students in the proper use of the submachine gun.  This course also discusses legal issues, use of force, or department policies.  It will greatly increase the instructor candidate’s shooting and teaching ability. 

This is a Missouri P.O.S.T. approved course

Instructor candidates will be provided with problem students in a real world trainer setting.

  • Instructor greeting and introduction

  • Preparation, delivery, and documentation of training

  • Methods of instruction

  • Training aids

  • Safety concerns

  • Diagnosing and correcting shooter’s errors

  • Establishing instructor standards

  • Running live-fire courses

  • Proper stance

  • Proper grip

  • Sight alignment

  • Sight picture

  • Reloads

  • Shooting positions

  • One arm shooting

  • Use of cover

 

Equipment needed:

  • Duty handgun

  • 100 rounds of ammunition

  • 3 magazines or speed loaders

  • Submachine gun

  • 3 magazines

  • 2,000 rounds of ammunition for submachine gun

  • Police flashlight

  • Elbow and knee pads

  • Hearing and eye protection

  • Hat

  • Foul weather gear

  • Note taking material
