APT Firearms Academy's SLR / Patrol Rifle I course teaches the practical use of the self-loading rifle for personal defense and patrol applications.

Designed for responsible citizens, law enforcement officers, and security professionals, this course builds a strong foundation in:

• Safe rifle handling
• Marksmanship fundamentals
• Rifle manipulation and reloads
• Tactical movement and positioning

Through hands-on drills and professional instruction, you'll develop the confidence to operate your rifle with speed, accuracy, and purpose under pressure.

If you're serious about mastering the fundamentals and applying them in realistic scenarios, SLR / Patrol Rifle I is the place to start.

 

This is a Missouri P.O.S.T. approved course

• The strengths and weaknesses of the weapon

• Battlesight zero

• Aperture

• Trigger press

• Loading and unloading drills

• Malfunction drills

• Weapon retention

• Ready positions

• Shooting while moving

• Use of cover

• Immediate action drills

• Addressing multiple targets

• Center mass hits from 10 to 350 yards

 

Equipment needed:

• Self-loading rifle (such as AR-15 or Mini-14)

• .22 conversion kit allowed in this course

• 500 rounds of ammunition

• 3 magazines for the rifle

• Sling

• Chest rig or battle belt

• Handgun plus magazines

• Holster and magazine pouches

• 50 rounds of ammunition for pistol

• Hearing & eye protection

• Knee and elbow pads

• Hat

• Sack lunch
