Course description:

The Precision Rifle I Course is an entry-level class designed for individuals with little to no formal training. This course introduces the fundamental techniques required to safely and effectively operate a precision rifle. Students will learn the core skills that form the foundation of a solid, repeatable precision shooting program.

This is a Missouri P.O.S.T. approved course 

 

Topics covered:

  • Safety and rifle handling

  • Rifle fundamentals & nomenclature

  • Ballistics basics (internal & external)

  • MOA and mil adjustments

  • Intro to wind reading

  • Optics, slings, and bipod use

  • Zeroing the rifle & cold bore shot

  • Data book use & observation

  • Positional shooting
    (prone, kneeling, sitting)

 

Equipment needed:

  • Eye & hearing protection

  • Rifle with optic

  • 100–150 rounds ammo
    (No SS109 or armor-piercing)

  • Sling & bipod

  • Shooting mat

  • Sandbags (2 small)

  • Spotting scope or binoculars

  • Notebook/data book & calculator

  • Pen/pencil

  • Handgun & holster (if carried)

  • Flashlight

  • Gun bag or backpack

  • Cleaning kit

  • Weather-appropriate clothing

  • Water, snacks & sack lunch

  • Sunscreen & bug repellent
